The official holiday was spent remembering those who have gone on before us to find the light and rest that they so much deserved. It was spent intimately with family, noshing on wings and fries, all those things that should be avoided.
Much like the investment firm logo that looks in two directions simultaneously, this day gave us the time to rejoice in the past and reflect on how that might determine our future. Time spent thinking of others, time spent together, seeking nothing but the sounds of fulfillment, nurturing one another, undisturbed by thoughts of self.
In their liberality, the present government has given me much for which to consider myself blessed: time to remember family and friends, old and new. I thank them for this extra opportunity to draw each knot tighter, to correct any flaws in the warp and woof of the fabric that has created our own distinct family tapestry.

The warp and woof are fine, the tapestry shows only the normal signs of age and wear and tear which is what makes it more of value with each passing day.
